An exam pattern is a reusable blueprint. It records the structure your team expects so each new exam paper starts with agreed rules rather than a blank form.

The expected number of options for applicable objective questions.

Create and test a pattern

1. Open Exam Patterns.
2. Name the pattern by programme, subject and purpose.
3. Add the exam paper-level rules.
4. Build each section and its intended question mix.
5. Save, then use it in a small test exam paper.
6. Confirm the available bank contains enough questions for every criterion.

Owners, administrators and teachers can manage custom patterns. Global patterns may be available as starting points and cannot be deleted by an organisation.
