The Examiar workflow
Examiar works best when you build the bank, define the pattern, then create the exam paper. Complete the foundations once and your team can reuse them for every future assessment.
- Configure your organisation. Confirm the organisation name, country, logo and exam paper header details.
- Map the curriculum. Create the hierarchy your institution teaches. Questions are classified against the lowest, or leaf, level.
- Organise topics. Add main topics and subtopics below each relevant curriculum leaf.
- Define question profiles. Record the question formats your institution uses and their usual marks.
- Build the question bank. Create questions individually, in bulk, or import them from Word or Excel.
- Save an exam pattern. Describe the sections, counts, marks and rules you regularly use.
- Create and review. Build the exam paper from saved questions, check the selection, then save and export it.
Minimum setup before adding questions
Before you create a large question collection, have at least one usable curriculum leaf, its topic structure and the question profiles you intend to use. This prevents inconsistent labels and makes filtering much more useful later.
Set up one subject completely, add or import 20 reviewed questions, save one pattern and create one test exam paper. Expand only after that small workflow works for your team.
Create the first exam paper
Open Create Exam Paper. Give the exam paper a clear title, set its rules, then add one or more sections. Each section needs a question count and curriculum selection; topics and difficulty mix let you narrow the selection. Review the selected questions before saving.
After saving, open the exam paper to print it or export a DOCX file. If you enabled the answer key during setup, Examiar prepares it from the correct answers stored in your question bank.
What to do next
- Read Curriculum and topics before mapping a full programme.
- Use the question quality checklist before a large import.
- Invite colleagues only after reviewing roles and permissions.
